Editorial policy
Sourcing
Every fuel price published on ograpetrolprice.com originates from an official Government of Pakistan source — the OGRA circular, the Finance Division press release, or the Ministry of Energy notification for the current fortnight. Where the primary document is a PDF, we archive the URL and the SHA-256 hash of the file we consulted so any reader can request the exact document we used.
Two-editor verification
Before any price change goes live, both Ch. Shariq Shabbir (Editor-in-Chief) and Sana Yousuf (Data Reviewer) independently open the underlying notification and confirm the value line-by-line. When automated fetching is enabled, an additional cross-check against PSO's published tariff runs and must agree with the OGRA figure before publication.
Corrections
Errors are corrected within 1 business day of confirmation. Material corrections (any change to a published price, city assignment or effective date) are logged with the original value, corrected value, the timestamp of the fix and the reviewer who signed off. Requests: corrections@ograpetrolprice.com.
Use of AI
We use automation to fetch and diff OGRA and PSO notifications, and large-language models to draft explanatory copy that is then edited and fact-checked by a human before publication. No price, date or numeric figure on the site is generated by an AI without human verification against the primary source document.
Conflicts of interest
The editorial team accepts no compensation, sponsorship or gifts from oil marketing companies, refineries, distributors or petroleum industry lobbies. Contextual display advertising served through independent ad networks funds the site; advertisers have no input into editorial content.
